ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ella Joseph is a multidisciplinary artist. She studied theater, performance, video, photography, painting and textile design. She holds a Master of Arts in Scenography from the University of the Arts London (Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in collaboration with Utrecht School of the Arts); a Master of Fine Arts in Theater Design from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada; and a Master/Bachelor of Science in Textile Engineering from the Gh. Asachi Technical University of Iasi, Romania.
Ella trained in video art at the University of Art & Design, Zurich, Switzerland; physical performance (Grotowski method and Body Weather Laboratory) at the Utrecht School of the Arts, The Netherlands; and painting at the University of Arts, Iasi, Romania.
Ella advised scenography at the Amsterdam School for New Dance Development, instructed video art at the Nieuw Millenium Foundation, The Netherlands, and art & technology at the University of Hawaii's Pacific New Media Center in Honolulu.
Her work has been shown throughout Europe, Canada and the United States.
