ABOUT THE WORK
Ephemeral art forms such as performance and installation are tied together by a video component that is fixed in time through photographic images - video stills - displayed throughout this web site.

It is in the spirit of the artist to let one self be vulnerable within the expression of their work. What it means after that is left for their viewers to ponder, discover and depart with. Regardless of form and content, I strive to impact my audience in the way French literary theorist and critic Roland Barthes describes in his book Camera Lucida: 'photography is subversive not when it frightens, repels, or even stigmatizes, but when it is pensive, when it thinks'.

'I find your wall art or flat art to be very engrossing. It keeps pulling me in. There always seems to be something new to see in it. It seems ethereal or other worldly. As though your camera sees things we do not see with the naked eye. I want to see into all the clouds and slightly out of focus places in the photos. You do wonderful things with clouds and vapor, take the mind out of itself and allow it to wander at will.
[...]
I enjoyed the fact that your art made me think, to feel, to look inward at what my feelings were about the world around me. Your art isn't something to just look at, say it's pretty, and move on. It requires participation. I like that. It is not something I am accustomed to, but something I might like to become accustomed to.' (Sunny Mathews, Niagara Falls, New York)
